Mr Justsice Waksman went to school in Newcastle, then studied law at the University of Manchester and at St Catharine’s College, Oxford. He was called to the Bar in 1982, and practiced commercial law from Fountain Court Chambers. Sir David became a Recorder in 2001, and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2002. In 2007, he joined the Bench as a Specialist Senior Circuit Judge, returning to Manchester as a Judge of the Manchester Circuit Commercial Court. Sir David became the Judge In Charge of the London Circuit Commercial Court in 2015, and has been a High Court Judge since 2018. In addition to his work in the Commercial Court, Sir David is a nominated Judge of the Technology & Construction Court, and he is a designated Planning Judge in the Administrative Court. He was Judge In Charge of the Technology & Construction Court from 2022 to 2024.
