The Commercial Court Report contains comprehensive information and statistics about the sources and nature of the Court’s work from year to year, as well as updates about developments in practice and procedure, and information about the Court’s judicial personnel and support staff.
The modern Report’s origins lie in a custom by which the outgoing Judge In Charge Of The Commercial Court reported on the business which had been done in the Court during his (it always was “his” in those days) term of office. The level of detail in these early reports varied, depending on the particular Judge’s enthusiasm for the task and/or on the time available; and the practice fell completely into abeyance in the early 21st Century. It was revived in 2018, and Reports since then have broadly followed the format of that first “new” edition.
The Report also contains information about the business of the Admiralty Court.
