The entrance on Rolls Buildings

The Rolls Building sits on a short road, appropriately named “Rolls Buildings”, half way along the western side of Fetter Lane and New Fetter Lane. The entrance overlooks the former Public Record Office, an impressive Victorian building which is now part of the University of London.

The building’s location puts it in the heart of “legal London”, near to the Royal Courts of Justice and the Inns of Court, and bordering the City. The area is well-served by public transport: Holborn, Chancery Lane, and Temple London Underground Stations are all close, and regular bus services pass nearby along Fleet Street and High Holborn.

There has been extensive redevelopment around Fetter Lane and the surrounding streets in recent years, and there are now many shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants in the immediate neighbourhood, as well as a variety of hotels.

Security screening is always in operation at the entrance to the Rolls Building. This can take some time in busy periods, so it is advisable to allow plenty of time when arriving for hearings.
